Ethnic clothing more expensive in Goa, save money shopping clothes while travelling
Compared to rest of india, it is more difficult to purchase affordable womens ethnic clothing in goa, because many women are wearing dresses, tshirts, shirts and western wear. For example the largest local garments store, do not have any kurti costing less than Rs 600, and the quality of the kurti is also not very good. They usually have only 4-5 designs or fewer costing less than Rs 700
The domain investor had purchased a navy blue kurti costing around Rs 700, in Goa, which is a large amount considering the meager amount she is making in goa.
However on 26 January 2018, when the domain investor removed the kurti for wearing on her way to goa from Mumbai, she found that it had a big hole in the front, she had worn the kurti only 4-5 times. The kurti was made from a synthetic blend.
On the other hand, while travelling, it is possible to purchase kurtis and ethnic clothes at a far lower rate, Rs 200-400 for similar design, because in most other parts of india women are wearing kurtis. This makes clothes a major expense for women who are travelling, if these clothes are getting holes, making them unwearable in a few washes. The cost of wearing the kurti is becoming Rs 150 per day, if it can be worn only 4-5 times.
So women interested in purchasing cheap kurtis should check out local stores while travelling in India
